A Resident's Thursday-Through-Sunday Guide To Bridgehampton, Summer 2026

July 9, 2026

The most useful way to approach a summer weekend in Bridgehampton is no longer as a checklist of reservations. In 2026, the better rhythm is sequential: use Thursday for culture and an unhurried dinner, let Friday move from the village to the vineyards, provision early on Saturday, and keep Sunday open for breakfast, art and music.

That order matters. Dia Bridgehampton has a new yearlong commission. The Bridgehampton Museum has built a particularly active summer calendar. Nourish by The Roundtree has brought a fresh culinary point of view to the Bridgehampton-Sag Harbor Turnpike, while seasonal retail has returned to Montauk Highway. A few minutes away, Sagaponack supplies gardens, prepared food and wine among the vines.

For residents considering Bridgehampton summer 2026 things to do, the information gain is not another long list. It is knowing which stops belong together and which details can quietly alter the day.

The resident’s rule for summer 2026: Keep the village as the anchor, then make one deliberate excursion. More stops rarely make a better weekend.

Thursday: Set the Weekend Before It Accelerates

Thursday offers the most latitude. Begin at the Bridgehampton Museum, where the Nathaniel Rogers House is open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is free, with a suggested donation.

The summer exhibitions reward more than one visit. “Looking” remains on view through August 9, while “Where We Stand: An Incomplete Soundtrack” continues through October 31. Outdoors, Oscar Molina’s “9 Divines” is installed through October. John Chamberlain’s “BURNTPIANO (GREEN)” has a much longer horizon, remaining through October 31, 2027. The continuing exhibitions on Bridgehampton racing and maritime history add local context without requiring an event ticket or fixed arrival time.

Thursday is also the right moment to check the changing calendar at The HUB. The multi-brand space returned to 2183 Montauk Highway for its second Bridgehampton season, combining fashion, art, beauty, wellness and short-term residencies. Its programming changes, so treat it as a place to consult before the weekend rather than a guaranteed weekly appointment.

For a more defined retail stop, the Vivrelle x Kith Women pop-up at 2397 Montauk Highway runs through Labor Day. On Thursdays it is open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. The collaboration includes Kith Women, Kith Kids and Vivrelle accessories, making it one of the season’s clearest new retail arrivals.

Dinner can remain classic. Almond, which marked its 25th anniversary in June, serves until 10 p.m. on Thursdays. Elaia Estiatorio opens at 4:30 p.m. and offers its daily OPA happy hour through 6:30 p.m. For a traditional lunch before the afternoon begins, Bobby Van’s serves daily from noon to 3 p.m.

The distinction is useful. Thursday is the evening for the established room, before the weekend’s cultural calendar starts making more demands.

Friday: Let Art Lead to Golden Hour

Friday begins with the strongest new cultural reason to remain in the village.

Dia Bridgehampton opened Alan Ruiz’s “De sol a sol” on June 26. The yearlong commission responds to the building’s architecture and its former uses as a fire station and the First Baptist Church of Bridgehampton. Ruiz considers daylight, labor and working conditions on the East End through an architecturally scaled intervention and related works.

Dia is open Friday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., with free admission. One small detail can change the timing of a visit: the galleries close from 2 to 2:30 p.m. each day.

The Bridgehampton Museum supplies a second cultural layer. Its remaining Friday programs include:

  • An anthotype photography workshop on July 17
  • Watercolor and “SIGNS (This Land Is My Land)” on July 24
  • A performance of “SIGNS” on July 31
  • Beer & Blacksmithing on August 7

Registration and availability should be confirmed through the museum calendar before setting out.

From there, choose one vineyard evening rather than trying to combine two.

Stay in Bridgehampton: Channing Daughters

Channing Daughters Winery is open seven days for retail and tastings at 1927 Scuttle Hole Road. Reservations are encouraged for parties of six or fewer and required for larger groups. Selected Friday and Saturday evenings bring “Golden Hour” gatherings around sunset, though the winery advises checking its current event calendar for that weekend’s food, music and schedule.

Make a short Sagaponack detour: Wölffer Wine Stand

The Wölffer Wine Stand at 3312 Montauk Highway is open daily from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Its Friday Sunset Music format generally runs from 5 to 8 p.m., with music concluding at sunset. Entry is first-come, outside food is not permitted and guests are encouraged to bring a blanket. Animals are not permitted apart from recognized service animals.

Dinner can follow at Nourish by The Roundtree, the notable Bridgehampton restaurant opening of 2026. Chef Dewa Wijaya brings French training and Balinese influences to the former Arthur & Sons address at 203 Bridgehampton-Sag Harbor Turnpike. Named regional suppliers include Acabonac Farms, Balsam Farms, Amber Waves, Gosman’s and Milk Pail. The beverage program includes zero-proof options and house-made kombucha. During July and August, Nourish is scheduled to serve lunch and dinner daily.

Saturday: Provision First, Then Choose a Cultural Track

Saturday’s most practical decision happens early. Round Swamp Farm’s Bridgehampton market is open from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday, with local produce, baked goods and prepared meals.

The key resident detail is that Round Swamp is closed on Sunday. If Sunday includes lunch at home, time near the water or a simple supper after a concert, Saturday is the day to collect what you need.

From there, the weekend can take one of three forms.

The Garden Track

The Madoo Conservancy sits just beyond Bridgehampton in Sagaponack. Summer hours are Thursday through Sunday from noon to 4 p.m. Admission is free, but visitors should schedule through Madoo’s booking calendar.

Sturdy shoes are advised because the paths, lawns and steps can be uneven. Dogs are not permitted. The garden is best treated as the principal afternoon engagement, with enough time left around it to avoid rushing.

The Museum Track

Saturday carries some of the Bridgehampton Museum’s most specific programming. Hamptons Artists for Haiti is scheduled for July 18. On July 25, the calendar includes a Truman Capote Walk and artist studio tours. En plein air painting comes to Madoo on August 1.

Hampton Vintage returns to the Corwith House grounds on August 15 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The free event gathers more than 50 vendors with vintage fashion, handmade work and one-of-a-kind pieces.

The Natural-History Track

The South Fork Natural History Museum and Nature Center, known as SOFO, is open daily from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 377 Bridgehampton-Sag Harbor Turnpike. Its summer program includes outdoor hikes, natural-history sessions and collaborations with the Bridgehampton Museum.

Programs may begin away from the museum and may require registration. Check the SOFO calendar rather than assuming the listed address is the meeting point. An August 8 en plein air class at SOFO is among the remaining Saturday collaborations.

For dinner, keep the choice proportional to the day. Dopo Il Ponte serves lunch and dinner on Saturdays, with wood-fired pizza providing a more relaxed conclusion. Elaia remains open until 10:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. Almond serves until 10:30 p.m. on Saturday.

Sunday: Breakfast, A Quieter Gallery and Chamber Music

Sunday works best when the schedule has only two firm points.

The first can be breakfast. Bridgehampton Inn Restaurant introduced daily breakfast in 2026, served from 8 to 10:30 a.m. Chef Alejandro Osorio’s broader menu draws on modern French and European influences, a fitting choice for a more composed morning.

Candy Kitchen offers the counterpoint. The family-owned diner and ice-cream parlor has been part of Bridgehampton since 1925, serving breakfast, lunch and desserts in the village center. It remains the unfussy option when another reservation is not the desired tone.

If Saturday provisioning did not happen, Loaves & Fishes Foodstore in Sagaponack is open on Sunday. The store now operates year-round, Wednesday through Monday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., with prepared food and a reusable-container refill program.

A midday return to Dia or the Bridgehampton Museum leaves the late afternoon open. Then, through August 16, Sunday evening belongs to Bridgehampton Chamber Music.

The 2026 festival runs from July 18 through August 16. Sunday concerts at Bridgehampton Presbyterian Church are scheduled for July 19, July 26, August 2, August 9 and August 16, generally beginning at 6 p.m. Thursday performances fall on July 30 and August 6. A Friday concert at Channing Sculpture Garden is scheduled for August 14.

Two Saturday programs at Madoo, on July 18 and August 1, begin with a 6 p.m. wine reception followed by a 6:30 p.m. concert. These are dates around which to organize the entire evening rather than additions to an already full day.

The Dates That Change the Standard Weekend

The regular rhythm holds through most of the season, but a few dates deserve separate planning.

Date What changes
July 17 to 19 The Bridgehampton Museum’s photography workshop, Hamptons Artists for Haiti and the opening weekend of the chamber music festival create a culture-led weekend.
July 23 to 26 An artists’ talk, watercolor, “SIGNS,” the Truman Capote Walk, studio tours and a Sunday chamber concert make advance selection essential.
July 30 to August 2 A Thursday chamber concert, poetry workshop, Saturday painting at Madoo, a Madoo concert and a Sunday concert overlap across four days.
August 14 to 16 The Channing Sculpture Garden concert, Hampton Vintage and the chamber festival finale form the final concentrated cultural weekend of the festival.
August 23 to 30 The Hampton Classic Horse Show shifts Bridgehampton’s late-August tempo. For this guide, August 27 through 30 is the relevant Thursday-to-Sunday window.

Three Details to Check Before Leaving Home

  1. Access near the water: Southampton Town’s 2026 beach information states that permits are required for parking at applicable Town beaches. Ocean Road Beach includes designated permit-only parking. Verify current parking, access and lifeguard rules before making the beach the day’s anchor.
  2. Registration: Madoo asks visitors to schedule their garden visit. Museum workshops, walks and other programs may also require advance registration.
  3. Closing patterns: Dia closes daily from 2 to 2:30 p.m. Round Swamp is closed Sunday. Bobby Van’s accepts dinner reservations only up to two weeks before the requested date.

These are modest details, but they explain Bridgehampton’s resident rhythm better than any exhaustive summer roundup. The pleasure of the weekend comes from editing: one exhibition, one vineyard, one considered dinner, and enough space between them to preserve the quality of each.
